About

ALTF4 is a runner game developed by Autosavegame and published by PUMPKIM. It was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on February 19, 2021.

This is a third-person perma-death runner game where the player will try to overcome various obstacles until the end.

Intro

AltF4... Don't actually press those buttons together though!

So this game is Takeshi's Castle meets Total Wipeout meets the Medieval era! It looks fun and I am going into this mostly blind. I am gonna test it out shortly as the game has changed a lot since Beta.

So it looks like there are multiple maps to finish, there also seems to be a "Hell Scenario", considering how hard this game is already I don't think we should attempt that for own mental health and sanity!

Time: 5 hours Progression: New Game, get as far as you can, if you can finish the main game, see how far you can get in "Hell WTF" in Challenge mode! Tiebreakers: Deaths - Luckily this game tracks deaths on your runs, you may need to make note of them if you do your submission in segments though.

Enjoy ladies and gents!

Outro

What a fantastic week (and a bit) - there were tears of both sadness and joy, yells of elation, and many many deaths. This has been one of my favourite weeks of the Wheel so far, it was great to see everyone getting involved, providing emotional support to each other and suffering together.

The Grand Council of Suffering felt the need to convene on the final placements as for anyone who attempted the 5th level will attest to, progression checkpoints are hard to measure due to the multi-route layout but it felt unrewarding to base final placements on death count as of the end of level 4 and not recognise the efforts used thereafter.

As a result, the placements below reflect a small amount of subjectiveness supported by evidence provided on streams to demonstrate progress. Otherwise, placements were decided on level progression and deaths. I would hope everyone can support this methodology, and while I'll be happy to discuss the Grand Council's ruling I will offer the reminder that if their decisions cause you further suffering, they are likely to enjoy this.

I will also add that this should not be interpreted as setting a precedent that streamed attempts provide more weight or credibility to submissions - in the wise words of Whose Line Is It Anyway, it's all made up and the points don't matter.

All of that being said, what an amazing debut out of the gate from Nomadd and Helmac - fantastic work and I hope you both will join in for some future games!
