About

Embark on a wild and wacky adventure with "Crash Bandicoot" on the PS1, a classic platformer that introduced players to the iconic marsupial hero, Crash. Developed by Naughty Dog and released in 1996, this game marked the beginning of the beloved Crash Bandicoot series.

Set on the mysterious Wumpa Islands, players guide Crash, a genetically enhanced bandicoot, through a series of challenging levels in an effort to thwart the plans of the nefarious Dr. Neo Cortex. With vibrant 3D environments and engaging gameplay, Crash must navigate perilous obstacles, defeat enemies, and collect Wumpa fruit to progress through the game's diverse and visually stunning worlds.

What sets "Crash Bandicoot" apart is its innovative use of a linear 3D path within each level, creating a dynamic and visually impressive gaming experience. The game's whimsical characters, humorous animations, and catchy soundtrack contributed to its charm and enduring popularity.

With its straightforward yet challenging gameplay, "Crash Bandicoot" became a cornerstone of the PlayStation's early success and set the stage for Crash's future adventures. Whether you're a fan revisiting the nostalgic gem or a newcomer to the world of Crash Bandicoot, get ready for a thrilling journey filled with spins, jumps, and the pursuit of crystals to save the day.

Intro

@Deccyf

After speaking with @Nomadd & the council we have revised the rule set. It does not take anything away from the struggle, but without prior knowledge of how to get gems, it really would give a significant disadvantage to those running this blind. So this is the new rule set, it is very similar to Sonic 2 & Sonic 3's rules.

Time: 5 hours
Difficulty: N/A
Score: Progress through levels with aim for completion
Tiebreakers: Progress > Gems > Time > Deaths.

Gems are this rounds emeralds, there are 26 Clear Gems and 6 Colour Gems to collect in the whole game and aren't particularly easy to get (not to say the emeralds were either).

Also please note that we are playing the PS1 version of the game as the N. Sane Trilogy has too many differences and concessions built into it to be a fair port to play. In addition, we will be playing the PAL version which oddly enough is the fastest version of the game, even compared to NTSC, so remember to download the PAL rom for your EMU's ladies and gents.

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favour!
