When the dead begin to rise, an ordinary mall becomes anything but ordinary in Dead Rising for the Xbox 360. As photojournalist Frank West, you find yourself trapped in the Willamette Parkview Mall amidst a zombie outbreak and must fight to survive for 72 hours until help arrives. With hordes of the undead flooding the hallways, the mall becomes an unpredictable playground for slaying zombies in creative ways.
Combine everyday items like baseball bats and lawnmowers to craft over-the-top weapons to mow down zombies, take on maniacal survivors looking out for themselves, rescue those still alive, discover the truth behind the outbreak, and most importantly—stay alive. With its open-world sandbox of terror, ability to use virtually anything as a weapon, and large crowds of on-screen zombies at a time,
Dead Rising provided an innovative and horrifying take on zombie action and survival when it released in 2006 that you have to see (and slash) to believe. This is one deadline missing survivors won't want to miss.

On behalf of @AcidDazy who is on her holibobs to the Galapagos Islands! I believe you can get this on Steam and Xbox game pass, I don't think there is much difference in versions? If there is please advise and we can adjust accordingly!

This game is essentially Dawn of the Dead the game, but modernised. Big Shopping Centre (Mall for you US folks) infested with Zombies, you are a reporter (Frank West - He's covered wars, ya know!?) who is trying to get a scoop on what really caused this huge biological disaster.

Game Version: 72 Hour Mode

Progress: Number of survivors saved (brought back to the safety of the control room)

Tiebreak: Zombies/cultists killed. Completed psychopath encounters count as 250 additional kills.

Limitations: Must proceed through main story missions - a missed deadline ends your run, and you must start over. New Game, no mods.

Saves and reloads are allowed.

Time: 5 IRL hours. (You won't beat the game, as the story and in-game time are on rails)
Progress: Primary win condition is people saved.
Tiebreaker 1: Mission progress.
Tiebreaker 2: Psychopaths killed (clown, main lawn guys, etc). All psychopath encounters are introduced by a cutscene. Each Carlos encounter counts as a Psychopath.
Tiebreaker 3: Reloads from save points (less reloads is better, of course)
Tiebreaker 4: Zombies killed. Use the in-game zombie count for this.

You must complete all the main missions. Running out of time ends that run, but you can reload from one of your saves point. Just keep count of your reload count.
