Intro

@Deccyf

Populous: The Beginning is a real-time strategy video game and the third entry in the Populous series, developed by Bullfrog Productions. The game was released in 1998 on Microsoft Windows, and in 1999 for the PlayStation. Unlike earlier games in the series, which cast the player in the role of a god influencing loyal followers, The Beginning took a radical departure and placed the player in the role of a shaman, who directly leads her tribe against opponents. Throughout the twenty-five missions of the campaign, the player leads their tribe across a solar system, dominating enemy tribes and tapping new sources of magic, with the ultimate goal of the shaman attaining godhood herself.

Version: PC only (PS1 has unlimited mana for the fire spell which is too much of an advantage)

Time: 05:00:00

Progress: The game has 25 worlds (missions/quests) you start on the furthest planet from the sun and to complete the game you need to beat each win condition of each planet, explained in each level.

You control a Blue Shaman and some followers, most of the missions require you to build a base and become omnipotent on that world. The Shaman is your main unit, she has spells at her disposal, some attack, some defence, some conversion and some terraforming. You unlock more powerful spells as you progress through the campaign.

Your followers are essentially one of your main commodities and protection, you need followers to become powerful and in bad situations you need them to resurrect your Shaman when she dies. If you lose all your followers and your Shaman dies, that world is lost and you will need to restart over again.

Furthest progress through the worlds is your key progress marker.

Levels beaten over levels reached.

Tiebreakers: Shaman Deaths and missions lost (I have added Shaman deaths because she is the most OP unit at your disposal, you could literally just rush with her over and over and beat a level... eventually, adding her deaths would mean you use her sparingly)
