Tails the Fox in Sonic 2

Here we go again!! It's the Return of a Season 2 legend and what other game could fate have possibly stopped on than Sonic 2 & Knuckles? It must be our density to do this dance once more!

However, in the interest of keeping things fresh, we have an exciting twist. As Knuckles has finished his quest already, and we need to keep it challenging, this season you're required to exclusively play as Tails!

"But Octo, you magnificent stallion of a man, what does this mean?"

I'll tell you what this means - no super forms! Whilst you will still need to collect Chaos Emeralds to separate you from the other poor souls who drown in the Oil Ocean Zone, collecting all 7 won't activate invincibility and grant additional power. Tails is a fox and apparently that makes him unworthy.

However, it's important to note that Tails cannot fly in Sonic 2, so don't think you can cheat your way over most of the level!

What are the rules?

Time: 5 hours Progress: Act/Zone Completion > Emeralds collected > TIME (not deaths this time!) Versions: Any as long as Tails cannot fly Chuckling: Permitted

To play as Tails Only, you simply have to press down on the title screen until you see Options. You can change your character from "Sonic & Tails" to "Tails Only" from there.

Measure your progress either by the time you entered a new act OR by the last emerald collected (so if your final run GO's on Wing Fortress, mark when you entered the level UNLESS you subsequently collected one last emerald, as you will have to add the time taken to obtain it).
