Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a critically acclaimed action-adventure game that was released for the Sony PlayStation in 1997. It is known for its challenging gameplay, complex story, and beautiful 2D graphics.

Castlevania is a side-scrolling, action-adventure game in which players control Richter (and shortly thereafter) Alucard. Players will be forced to deal with various monsters as they dig deeper into the castle's depths to prevent the return of Dracula.

This is the game where people started giving the name Metroidvania out like it was candy. Because the game is randomized you'll see yourself go from point A to B and most likely back to A before going to C. Even though I nominated this game it had been a few years since I ran a speed run glitchess.
